Immediately when you think of Niagara Falls you think of the wonderful view of this massive waterfall that can be seen from both Canada and New York. However, there is much to see and do, depending on which side of the ‘border’ you are visiting – in fact – consider visiting both sides of the border which will help round out your vacation to Niagara Falls.
Niagara Falls Proper
The Niagara River is about 36 miles in length and is the natural outlet from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario.
The elevation between the two lakes is about 326 feet, half occurring at the Falls themselves.
About 500 other waterfalls in the world are "taller" than Niagara. The Angel Falls in Venezuela is tallest at 3,212 feet. However, some of the tallest falls in the world have very little water flowing over them. It’s the combination of height and volume that makes Niagara Falls so beautiful.
Niagara Falls Ontario
In addition to the breathtaking beauty of the falls, you can also check out the Niagara Botanical Gardens, which offers ninety nine acres of beautiful gardens that offer shade, herb, vegetable and rose gardens along with a butterfly garden, pools and an arboretum with a beautiful collection of ornamental trees and shrubs. You won’t want to miss this as it’s a highlight of your trip to Niagara Falls Ontario.
For a day of family entertainment, head over to Marine Land for a view of killer whales, beluga whales, fish, bears and deer as well as great rides that are sure to entertain everyone. Check out some of the wonderful shows to highlight the beauty of the whales in a natural like habitat. Whether you enjoy an afternoon of gambling, shopping or a fun place to dine, the Fallsview Casino Resort is the place to hang out for an afternoon and evening of fun events. In addition to the gambling you’ll also find shows and great places to eat!
Niagara Falls New York

You can feed the seals, be a trainer for the day or get up close and personal with a sea lion!
Learn more about aviation by taking a tour of the Niagara Aerospace Museum where you can learn more about aviation history or new innovations. If you feel more like ground sports, head over to the Hyde Park Golf course where you’ll find an eighteen hole and two nine hole courses for a great afternoon of exercise and fun!
