By writing a hotel review it will give you the opportunity to get your opinion across and hopefully allow the reader to make an informed decision when making their choice of accommodation. Although the review is predominately aimed at the consumer it is also a method by which the owner/manager of an establishment can utilize the information to make improvements or see what is working or not working in their establishment.
A positive review is a way of rewarding a business if they have provided you with a positive experience. Likewise it can be a warning to others if you have had a bad or less than satisfactory experience.
Without reviews it is difficult to get a real feel of the hotel. We all know that the camera can make things look more glossy than they are in reality.
As individuals we all have different opinions on what we expect from a hotel during our stay. People place different emphasis's on what is important to them when visiting a hotel. People in different country's around the world have certain expectations be it the attentiveness of the staff, the amenities in the room, the cleanliness of the establishment, the availability of tea/coffee making facilities.
Reviewing a hotel allows people the opportunity to express their concerns if they feel they have been wronged, it also gives people the opportunity to share their experiences and give some guidance.
There is a star/number grading system that is universally used throughout the hotel industry however, each country has it's own definition of what a standard should be.
If someone takes the time out to write a hotel review be it positive or negative it will at least give the reader the opportunity to get a feel for what then can expect and then you can make an informed decision when making their accommodation choice. A number of people rely on hotel reviews to allow them to make a consumer decision.
The more hotel reviews we share, the more it will allow consumers to make an informed choice. By writing a hotel review you are helping your fellow travellers make the most informed decision they can when choosing a place to stay.
