You are in for a real treat if you’re traveling here - one of the biggest areas in California offering a variety of opportunities for sight seeing, entertainment, outdoor activities - you can even drive less than an hour and have a whole variety of other activities in other parts of California. Take a tour of Alcatraz Island the decommissioned prison and listen to the audio tapes that describe the conditions of this once prison or visit Angel Island which was once an Asian Immigration Camp (Ellis Island of the West) which is a large open park. For a less sobering look at San Francisco, tour Treasure Island where the Bay Bridge passes through with incredible views of San Francisco’s skyline or the San Francisco Zoo where you’ll find penguins, llamas and other incredible animals.
No trip to San Francisco would be complete without visiting Golden Gate Park offering windmills, bison and museums - more than 1000 acres - you’ll find the Conservatory of Flowers, Shakespeare Garden, a classic carousel, de Young Museum, a Japanese Tea Garden, Strybing Arboretum and much more - you can even have lunch, dinner or drinks on the grounds and watch the surfers while you’re there.
Dinner time is a delight for the senses! Offering a wide variety of restaurants, San Francisco offers vegetarian meals, Chinese Dim Sum, Italian Food, fresh seafood, Italian food and much more. Many restaurants for a corkage fee allow you to bring in your own liquor so check before you go! When it’s time to start searching for things to do in the late night, you won’t have to look very far at all. San Francisco offers a variety of night scenes, from young professionals to hippies from Irish Pubs to elegant dance clubs; you are guaranteed to find something that will suit your fancy.
