After Las Vegas, Reno is the next largest gaming destination spot in the state of Nevada. Reno is a progressive city, and has been recognized numerous times as one of the best places to live in the United States.
It is a great idea if you’re visiting Reno that you rent a car - many of the most popular and not to miss sites are located just slightly outside of Reno and you wouldn’t want to miss getting to them! Even those who do not like gambling should not miss the opportunity to check out the hundreds of entertainment and dining opportunities that the casinos offer you. Circus Circus for example while not great for dining is perfect for families offering circus acts and a midway arcade, Harrah’s Reno offers a martini bar and an Asian noodle restaurant, the Atlantis which is a tropical themed casino offers a variety of dining choices including real Italian Pizza Cafe with it’s own real oven, a great buffet or a steakhouse. For people who love to be active and out of doors, you should consider the mountain biking trails that Reno has to offer, with a network of trails or visit some of the wonderful ski resorts such as Mt Rose with a terrain suitable for beginning to advanced skiers. Kayak rentals are available in Wingfield Park and many people will enjoy the opportunity to explore Reno this way.
When it’s time to explore the night life in Reno, you can go from casual to swanky if you choose and you can party for a couple of hours or you can party all night! For a swankier experience you can chose from the Cube Bar, the Vintage Court Bar, Spirit of the Dance the New Millennium or Bahia Nightclub all offer a higher end evening of dancing, drinking and fun or head over to some of the clubs that are associated with the casinos for an enjoyable casual evening of fun, drink and gambling.
Reno is a wonderful destination location for many reasons, they’re not far from quality ski areas if you’re visiting in the winter, you’re less than an hour’s drive away from some key tourist sites and you’ll love the scenery, the casinos and the friendly people you meet while you’re in Reno.
